Amy and Benjamin Chester-Sterne

Way back in May 2015 Amy contacted me looking for her bridal hair and make up artist, she had been recommended to me by one of my lovely earlier brides Kay Attridge.

Right from the get go, I knew Amy and I would get along like a house on fire, she is so warm and bubbly, I felt like we had been friends for ages!

I met Amy, her bridesmaids Amy and Amy… (just to make things interesting!) and her Mum Jo, at their stunning home for her hair and makeup trial. Amy had a really good idea of the type of look she wanted to go for. With her amazing pixie cut hair and flawless skin I instantly knew we could create a stunning bridal look.

For hair, Amy requested it out of her face and was purchasing a small hair piece to go in her hair. I backcombed and textured her hair to create stability and form, which gave such a gorgeous soft quiff that finished beautifully blending into her short shaved side. We used a cream flower in her hair to demonstrate where her final hair piece would go, which looked stunning by itself, however Amy wanted to find a more natural piece using a feather!

Her theme throughout the wedding was tweed, which she was also having incorporated into the waist band of her stunning form fitting, Alfred Angelo wedding dress with the most delicate straps I have ever seen!

Make up wise Amy doesn’t wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis, but knew what she liked to wear on a night out or special occasion. Her main aspect of her look was lots of mascara to define her eyes and flawless skin.

I matched her incredible skin with an NARS All Day Luminous Foundation gently buffed into the skin to ensure a seamless, natural finish, still allowing her freckles to show through! Her skin was finished off with a soft contouring and blush using Dior Blush ‘My Rose’. For her eyes we decided a soft brown and gold smokey eye would be perfect for her winter wedding, so I created a defining smokey eye using Urban Decay and MAC Spiced Metal. I finished her eyes with some soft natural lashes, blended in with a touch of khol liner into the inner corners of her eyes.

As Amy could easily carry off a bold lip we chose NARS Bright Pink that has a red undertone to really bring Amy’s whole look together!

On the morning of 25th January 2016, Amy and Ben’s wedding took place at Stanwell House Hotel in Lymington.  I met Amy, her gaggle of Amy bridesmaids, bridesmaid Lauren and her lovely mum Jo in their bridal suite. Everyone was excited and happy, yet so relaxed! There was a totally zen in the beautifully lit room!

Both Amys (bridesmaids) had their hair and make up done, one opting for a chic side bun, the other a glamorous undone wave with a sparkly clip to the side. Both had natural make up with a brown and sparkly smokey eye, created using MAC Blonde Streak, that gives the prettiest sparkle, perfect for every bridesmaid!

Mum Jo had her hair done in a very elegant but relaxed up do, created by curling her hair then pinning in sections to create a chic bun style, all brought together with some volume.

Everyone looked absolutely stunning and their happiness was just shining through!

To top off an amazing morning Amy asked that I lace her dress up (4 years of working in a wedding dress shop certainly came into play!) which was a complete honor, so helped by Mum Jo, we got to work lacing her stunning gown.

Afterwards I said my good byes and left everyone with my best wishes, I really had the best morning with all these lovely ladies!

Images here are my own, from both Amy’s trial and the morning of the wedding, with one mini taster from incredible Alisa Roberts Photography. Looking forward to hearing all about Amy and Ben’s honeymoon in Cuba and seeing some more images soon!
