Whilst browsing through my April edition of Cosmopolitan I found an article about destination holidays, mentioned in here was Kuramathi in the Maldives!

My hubby and I went to Kuramathi for our honeymoon in 2014. To say its paradise only just does it justice!

When thinking of honeymoon destinations, the Maldives is always one of the top spots, white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, idyllic islands and ultimate luxury.

Kuramathi certainly didn’t disappoint!

We flew from Heathrow airport direct to Male airport, the main Maldivian airport. From here we transferred onto a water plane. This itself was an experience not to be forgotten, sitting in a tiny 6 seater plane, feeling as if the water is literally no more than 3 feet away! Its exhilarating and incredibly noisy! Flying over the beautiful islands really is like flying through a picture perfect postcard.

Upon landing you’re greeted with a cooling cocktail and whisked away to your room.

For the first 10 nights we were booked into a beach bungalow with outside bathroom, private garden and Jacuzzi! With only a 5 step walk from the bungalow to the beach, rolling out of bed and onto your lounger really is possible!

Whilst staying at Kuramathi we opted for the All Inclusive Plus package which gives access to all the restaurants including the Al-carte options with all drinks included. Premium drinks such as champagne are a chargeable extra, however the vast selection of cocktails and premium brand spirits really are enough!

The food in all restaurants is exquisite, choose from beach BBQ where everything is flame grilled to your taste, speciality seafood delights, Thai cosine, Mediterranean salads and antipasti, traditional tandoori. You can even opt for a private beach dinner, just you, your loved one and the stars! Oh, and of course 5-star food and a private butler…bliss!

During the day there is as much or as little as you would like to do. Spend your days lazing on the many different beaches all around the island, walk up to the breath taking Sandbank at the north of the Island where the sea meets in the middle. Going at sunset really is the most magical event! You can take a walk through the tropical forest, explore the hydroponic gardens and even take a walk with the crabs!

If you’re looking for something a little more then the sports centre caters for everyone from deep sea diving, boat trips and water sports.

Personally when I’m in heaven the only thing I want to do is lounge around and get a massage, and their spa certainly didn’t disappoint! We had a private room with a ‘bath’ more like the size of a small pool, filled with rose petals and gorgeous aromatherapy oils. Once we had soaked and relaxed a glass of champagne awaited us in a secluded area overlooking the beach and crystal clear waters!

For the last 3 nights of our stay we upgraded our room to one of the 3 honeymoon suits… WOW! Private pool, 1-bedroom suite with dining room, lounge, private beach and dressing room! There truly aren’t enough adjectives to describe how incredibly luxurious this was!

So after all this talk I thought I’d share some of our personal images from our honeymoon just to show off how beautiful Kuramathi is!

If you are looking for ultimate in pampering, luxury the Kuramathi is a top choice in honeymoon destinations!
