Sleep; A girls real best friend

The title of this blog could be truer and my best friend knows it!

Over the past couple of weeks, actually probably months, I have really struggled to get to sleep! Once I am asleep, I sleep relatively well and uninterrupted. It’s just those minutes that turn into an hour then into hours of hoping and wishing that sleep would come!

I am my own worst enemy; I fully admit that. I work well into the night, responding to enquiries and chatting to my brides about their big days and designing their hair and makeup! I love my job and as a freelancer it’s so important that I am passionate, otherwise where will I be in 5 years’ time? Back in a 9-5 office job, hating life!

I started to look closely at my daily routine and diet. I exercise regularly, I awake at a decent time in the morning, sometimes crazy early for my brides’ big days, I eat healthily and enjoy my coffee.

First things first, I cut out the caffeine. I’m not going to lie, I hate not having coffee, for the first couple of days I felt so sluggish and my head was killing! But after around 4-5 days I felt adjusted to the lack of caffeine, now I just miss the taste and the lovely warming, comforting feeling….enough or I’ll cave in!!

Despite cutting out caffeine, upping my water intake and trying to tire myself out more during the day, I was still struggling to fall asleep. For example, going to bed at 10pm, I would still be wide awake by 12.30am!

So a couple of days ago I received a package through the door, from my best friend. Let’s call her my ‘Fairy Sleep Mother’.

This parcel contained a set of ‘This Works’ Can’t Sleep Kit, and Pukka Sleep Time Tea.

The tea is gorgeous, a completely natural blend of organic oat flower, lavender and limeflower. The taste is delicate and dreamy. Half an hour after my tea I do feel more relaxed and ready to hit the sack!

When getting into bed I spritz the ‘Deep Sleep Pillow Spray’ over my pillows, and roll the ‘Deep Sleep Stress Less’ liquid roller on to the insides of my wrists and on my temples. The smell of the pillow spray is almost intoxicating, I almost instantly start to feel almost lightheaded, but in a really good sleepy way. I laid in bed and fall asleep within half an hour of my head hitting the pillow. Amazing!!

I can’t thank my Fairy Sleep Mother, or This Works enough.

Clearly, This Works!
